For many, a life with horses is a lifelong dream. For Dylan Johnson, founder of The Stable Horseman, the journey started a little differently.
Growing up, Dylan’s family was deeply involved in the equestrian world, but the passion hadn’t quite found him. He wasn’t drawn to horses and didn’t expect that to change.
Everything shifted the day his family went to look at a horse for his sister. While wandering the property, Dylan came across a horse named Sedona. In the moment their eyes met, something changed. An undeniable connection was forged—a spark that would alter the course of his life.
He rescued Sedona that day for just a nickel, but the bond they formed was priceless.

This profound connection to Sedona ignited a deep-seated passion in Dylan, driving him to explore every facet of the equestrian world. His pursuit of excellence took him from the competitive arena to the grand stage of Las Vegas, where for three years he performed as a rider and King in the famed Tournament of Kings show at the Excalibur hotel. His reputation for world-class horsemanship even caught the attention of Hollywood, leading to him being selected as an expert rider for the hit TV show Yellowstone before the COVID-19 pandemic brought filming to a halt.
That first, powerful connection is the foundation of everything we do at The Stable Horseman. Dylan built this business on the core belief that true horsemanship isn’t just about proper technique—it’s about the partnership, trust, and communication between horse and rider. This philosophy, tested everywhere from quiet trails to the high demands of professional performance, is woven into every lesson and training session.
Here, we don’t just teach you how to ride. We bring real-world, top-level experience to help you build a partnership that will last a lifetime.
